Automatic Bank Reconciliation Matching rules
Hello,
I am trying to use auto bank reconciliation in AX for the first time. I have a bank statement in MT940 format. The entire setup is complete for MT940. The MT940 has bank transaction code for transactions such as NCMI, NTRF etc.
In matching rules search criteria for statement lines, I selected bank transaction code = NCMI (value) and for open bank document lines i selected bank transaction type = bank transaction code (statement fields).
Also, in the MT940, it has reference number for each transaction. In matching rules search criteria for open bank document , I set payment reference = Reference Number (statement fields).
When i run matching rules, it says "0 statement lines were matched for rule NCMI."
Can someone please explain how the matching rules should be set? I aim to match transactions based on 'bank transaction code' in statement lines to 'bank transaction type' as well as match the 'reference number' to 'payment reference number' in AX.

Criteria to decide on number of intermec handheld devices
Hello,
I'm implementing advanced warehouse management module, where in we need to purchase handheld devices for performing the receiving and dispatch activity. I need to decide on the number of handheld devices to be purchase. I had two approaches
1) Number of handheld devices = Number of warehouses (inside AX). (uneconomical)
2) Number of handheld devices = Number of warehouse workers (actual workers).
what is the right way? is there any other criteria? or any ideas?

Edit properties of a Form data source
Hello experts,
I want to change properties of a form data source in D365 FOP (e.g. Allow edit = false -> Allow edit = true) . How can I do it, what is the best practice for that? I tried to extend the form but it seems like I can't change the property from the extension. I would appreciate any help or guidance.

POS register: validation template not assigned
Dear Expert,
i am getting below error message on POS register when i click on Configuration status button after selecting the register.
"a validation template has not been assigned. specify a template on the entity validation template tap on the retail shared paramerters form and then try again"

How to setup a development environment for the new officially released AX 7?
Hello,
Can anybody describe me how can I setup a development environment for the officially released Dynamics AX 7 ??
Till now I have worked on the locally downloadable VHD containing the public preview CTP8. Now Microsoft has released AX 7 this month. Now I cannot find any tutorials or blogs where the steps to setup Dev environment and deploy it in Azure is described.

But I am not quite sure if the link is for public preview VHD or the officially released AX 7? Also I couldn't understand the below points in the link:-

What all permissions and subscriptions do I need?
Plus I read that, you can create environments in two ways:
- Deploy to Microsoft cloud services (Azure)
- Download a local VHD
I am already working on the local VHD containing CTP8. Is that the one? Or I need to separately download another VHD containing released AX7? Then is it needed to deploy it in Azure?
Can anybody plz help me out here?

I am trying to log in to SSMS on local machine . am getting log in failed for MachineName\Administrator, how can I log in to sql ? and can I install other databases on this VM sql ? and can I join it to our domain ? as I need to install crm as well.

AOT query for all currency exchange rates per company and month
I'm quite new to this so this might be a really simple question. I was looking to put together a simple query for all exchange rates over time. When I look in the ExchangeRate table in AOT it looks like this holds the 3000+ rows that I would need, but when I put this in a query and pull it out in Excel I get only 100 rows - only the most recent dated lines for each exchange rate type. How can I change the query so that I get all the rows that I see when I read the ExchangeRate table directly with a Ctrl T? I saw some complex union query solution that does what I need, but I would rather keep it really simple since my data connection will complain if I have more than one root element to a query...

Convert composite entity xml export to flat text file
Hi Experts,
I need to convert the purchase orders composite entity xml to a flat file( text format) for later use in a EDI system. Even if a create a custom entity which both purchase order header and line data source, I still need it in a text format like header only once and then respective lines. Creating a service to read xml files and convert to text file seems an option.Any suggestions?

Connecting Power BI to Dynamics AX 2012 R3 queries through OData feed
I have been trying now for a while to setup things so that I can use data from Dynamics AX queries in Power BI. I understand the procedure is to use an OData feed and enter the path to the AOS server like; "http://<AosIpAddress>:<WSDLPort>/DynamicsAx/Services/OdataQueryService/"
This doesn't work for me and as part of trouble shooting I tried entering the same path in the browser (should give you an xml view), which brings me to a screen with the following message;
“The server encountered an error processing the request. The exception message is ‘Object reference not set to an instance of an object.’. See server logs for more details.” Then follows a long exception stack trace.
Any ideas on where to go from here would be much appreciated!

I have extended a SalesQuickQuote Form and added a new table as a datasource. Now i want to add edit/display method into it.
It doesn't show any option when I right click on form datasource to add new method.
Can someone please enlighten me how to add new methods in it?

Deleted AUC files are restored as is and not reseted
Hello,
I need to have my AX client look and feel reset as if I was a fresh user. I was told that it required to delete the %userprofile%\appdata\local\*.AUC files.
I have deleted those files on the Terminal Server where AX is installed but as soon as I launch AX again, the AUC files are copied from somewhere exactly as they were before the deletion : it's a restore, bot a reset!
So, I worked with system guy and checked my centralized romaing profile, but the AUC files where not there. It seems that the copied files does not come from my roaming profile.
So where are they stored?
FYI, I did not stopped the AOS before deleting my AUC. Could they be in memory there? I read that stop/start AOS was optional for AUC deletion...
Please help, as I really need to understand why it seems that the deletion of AUC is not working as I need to find a way to manage the "look and feel" of the AX client accross several users accounts and I thought that by resetting the AUC, then configuring correctly a user and copying its AUC files to other user profiles would do the trick...

AIF Inbound Service creates Sales Order of Journal SalesType

I am creating SalesOrder using AIF inbound port via File System adapter , i just successfully done this through this https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/241809 but its creating salesOrder of only JournalType.
Then I changed it default sales order Type from AR parameters form but didn't work. Then I changed my data policies from AIF Inbound port and enable salesType element so i can pass salesType through Input XML massage and my xml massage is like this :

Filter in form using tempdb, join with tempDb doesn't work
I have added a tempdb table as a datasource in a form and i need to filter using a field in this table. Linktype is delayed. I have created a method in form to populate the tempdb and I have used linkPhisicalTableInstance, but when I join this to inventTable, in init of my formdatasource, it doesn't work. Form shows nothing in the grid. Is there any other thing I should to to add mytempdb a s a datasource to inventTable query?

Unable to read the file name in SFTP server

I need to read all the files from a folder that is available in SFTP server. I am using Renci.SshNet.dll file.
I can able to get the number of files (total count) available in that location by using below code but unable to retrieve the name of the each file present in that location.

1 entity has 2 datasource
I would like to make a entity which has 2 entity like a purchtable to import purchases order information.
When an error occurred in line, header is rollback also.
So, a header update/insert once,
when a next record reads, the header table is occurred update conflict because of changing reversion.
How is the best way to avoid a header records updating again?

Date SysQueryRangeUtils
We use the Dynamics AX standard queries to create queries for e.g. PriceDiscTable. Assume we want to have all PriceDiscTables for ItemNumber "xy" it's quite easy:
ItemRelation = xy
Additional we would like to retrieve only records that have a ValidTo date greater than yesterday.
ToDate: >day(-1)
So i would expect that a record with ToDate 2017/07/03 is part of this query. But it isn't. It doesn't matter which value i try, it will always display only those records with ToDate greater than today, that corresponds to ">day()".
You can simply reconstruct this behaviour in the TableBrowser for table PriceDiscTable.
If i use this expression in a simple job, it gives the expected output with date from yesterday:

The function SysQueryRangeUtil::GreaterThanDate(-1) works like expected, but according to the documentation day(-1) should work as well.
Any ideas for this strange behaviour or do i miss something?

The form with name XXX could not be opened
Hello,
When I try to open the form via menu item, which I put in menu, or directly from project by "Start" button (Form is set as startup object" it gives the error message "The form with name XXX could not be opened".
DB synch, model build with depending packages are done.
What other steps should I take?
I just started to work with 365 on our test server.
