Hi :)

I have some weird problem, I using this for export data into csv and it doesn't work properly. It generates csv file with coma separated values but excel sees it like ordinary file, it displays like this:

0,"item name"
1,"item name"
2,"item name"

instead of this:

0	item name
1	item name
2	item name

I tried to generate csv file in excel, open it in notepad++ and copy to x++ generated file and it also displays wrong so I assume that is problem with file properties but i don't know how to solve this.

Can somebody, please, tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hi All,

Environment: D365/Ax7

while open VendInvoiceInfoListPage form I have some calculation is there. So go with Initializing() method using EventHandlers in VendInvoiceInfoListPage form blow my code is there.

But I can't any return values .Please any one help to resolve this issues .

Hello expertise,

I have configured Email Parameters form ,system administrator > Emails > Email Parameters .

When trying to send email form system administrator > Emails > Email Parameters > Test email like below screenshot .

system is generating below error .

Transaction failed. The server response was: 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Cannot submit message. 16.55847:9010000

 

Please suggest to resolve this issue .

Hi All,

Since the arrival of chain of command, we have the possibility to use class variables and add code to protected methods in the chain. 

I am trying to make an extension class for a form, with the use of the decorater as followed for example  [ExtensionOf(formStr(SalesCopying))].

And using a public final class of my newly created class for the SalesCopying form.

This gives us the possibility to use CoC on methods of the form itself, but how can I use chain of command on datasource methods or on control methods?

Since every datasource and control has its own class now in 365 , I don't know how to use the decorater for my form extension class to use CoC on underlying methods on datasource and controls.

Do you have to make an extension class for every datasource and control you want to use CoC with, if so how do you distinguish this?

how to manage the real value conversions based upon system languages or user languages? 

This general journals lines Import we have custom action menu item to import journal lines debit and credit columns are not converting correctly based languages. below is the my explanation

In German language like (DE) i have csv or excel file mentioned like 525,282  based upon Str2Num_RU() function its works fine,but in case if i have in en-us or DE language csv file contains  5,25.282 at that time comma(,) replace to dot(.) at that time function will do wrong conversion. using str2num in German language its giving wrong conversion for decimal places.Please share the answer any one is having solution.

Is there any other conversion instead of Str2Num_RU()? or else we have to restrict the data in excel only?

Hi everyone

I'm running an SSRS report using a dataprovider, but that also has a default query.

On that query, on one of the tables there is a date range that is open, so that when the user opens the report, they can specify a date.

In the data provider, I retrieve the value from the query so that I can display it on the report, reformatted etc.

The way I'm retrieving the parameter is like this:

str dateParm = query.dataSourceTable(tableNum(MyTable)).findRange(fieldNum(MyTable, dateField)).value();

When I print this value to the report though, it always appears in a M/d/yyyy format, but the default date format in the regional settings of the server and client are dd/m/yyyy.

Unfortunately, to retrieve the value from a QueryBuildRange object, you can only use value(), which returns a string. The same functionality is available using the QueryFilter object.

So, here are my questions:

1) Is that the only way to pull the date value our of a dateRange on a query object?

2) Is it possible to format that date while retrieving it?

3) What date format does it use by default? I'd expect it to use the local regional settings but it doesn't; it looks like a US format by default. What format does it use?

4) Is there a better/other way to pull the date value of the range out in the correct format?

Hi

If i wanted to develop a new screen within my dynamics instance such as a screen that captures detailed information and then processes it, how would i go about doing this and what tools do i have available to me to publish it to my D365F&O instance?

This needs to look native to D365 (new tile on the home screen etc)

Hello all,

I would like to ask for a problem that i haven't solved yet, that is about computed field in view.

I want to create a computed field of the type amount , the value of which should be converted on different unit of measures based on some conditions.

The conditions are: On the "InventTableModule" ,for the same itemid ...i should check the unit id for model type = Invent and model type= Sales Order. If the unitid of those model types is different, the value of amount should be converted on the unitid of modeltype=sales order.

For example : For un item 0001 i have two model types..one model type = Invent with unit of measure kilogram and one model type = Sales Order with unit of measure Gram. In this example the value of amount should be converted on gram. This conversion should be on the method of computedColumn. How can i do that with the computed column syntax?

If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Hi All 

Is smtp.office365.com the correct outgoing mail server?  If not, where should I look?  

Are the User name and the Test email, should be the admin's email's address, correct?  If someone has a complete steps to set up the workflow email notification for D365, I'd appreciated very much.

Hello,this is a method I use for creating a computed field in View and I need to filter for priceDiscTable.AccountRelation = "01". AccountRelation is String And I have a problem with the value I want to filter "01", because in SQL it is always converted to Int and I get this error: 'Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value to data type int'.

Hi all,

I'm creating an SSRS report in AX 2012 R2. One of the requirement is to display an image in the report.

I'm trying to use Image class in the data provider class, so I wrote something like this:

Image    image;

image = new Image();

When I preview the report in visual studio, I always getting an error. But when I erase the image code, I can preview my report without getting any error.

My question is how to load an image in data provider class? Can't I use Image class in the data provider? and why am I always getting an error when using Image class in the data provider class?

Hi All,

Encountered with below while upgrading the database from Update1( Platform Upd1, Application Upd1) to Update5 environment (Platform Upd5, Application Upd3) during pre-sync(step7) in DEV machine. Followed the instructions from the wiki page: https://ax.help.dynamics.com/en/wiki/process-for-upgrading-ax-data-to-the-latest-dynamics-ax-update/

Even installed the KB 3170386 (as suggested in trouble shooting section) but of no use. Can somebody help me in resolving the issue.

Hi all,

Suppose we have a table TableA that contains 3 fields A,B and C. This is added to the form Form A which is called from 2 different forms FormX and FormY . The requirement is :

1. If formA is called from FormX the sort order should be C,B then A.

2. If formA is called from FormY the sort order should be A,B then C.

How can this be achieved ?

Hello,

I have a severe problem for performance, one of our customers ask to solve their slow performance.

In the general journal function, when they make new ledger in the form(LedgerJouranlTransDaily) it is slow and one of the fields in grid blinks.

Since there is no customization fields or methods and the time when we test it is not slow, I just suspect the slow performance happens due to many active sessions and transactions.

I want to know that if there is a maximum limitation number that can run a query at the same time in DB and if I make new AOS on the same server to make them use AOS separately depends on their company(e.g. Company1 -> AOS1 / Company2 -> AOS2, only multiple AOS with one DB), then can it reduce running time?

Otherwise, will it make the server slower to use multiple AOS?

Please give me any information.

Dear fellow programmers, 

I am currently trying to explore options to connect a chatbot to Dynamics 365FO. I've found tons of documentation on creating web services in D365FO, although I must say that they can sometimes be a little overwhelming seeing as this is only my second week in hands-on experience with D365FO (and ERP's in general). 

The chatbot's functionality would be to replace some of the hideous data inputting tasks, mainly in the Job Card Device module. So this would mean performing CRUD-operations on its tables, with data flowing in and out through a webservice. 

My main issue at the moment is that I still lack an adequate understanding of the D365FO architecture, especially the Authentication part. I think that using OData would be the best option, seeing to the fact that there won't be any big bulky operations flowing through the chatbot. I've also done some research on MS Flow and I'm still unsure whether or not this would be a good starting point, since it can lack in functionality. 

Can any of you help me understand the base architecture to go about this project? I'd very much appreciate it if any of you could point me in the right direction.
